For thirty-four years, women have sat in my chair in Seoul. My favourites are over 60, because a few small changes make them look years fresher, and they always ask why nobody taught them sooner. So I wrote down everything I do for them: 67 chapters, every step shown in a picture, with drugstore products under $20. No surgery, no needles, no $300 jars.

You asked me to show you. So every step is in a picture.

A video moves too fast, and nobody can see your own eye from the screen. In the book you can stop on any step for as long as you like, with the mirror in your other hand.

Part One · The EyesChapter 1

The 7-Step Korean Eyeliner for Hooded Eyes

The line goes where your eye is open, not where the lid used to be. This is the chapter my clients ask for first.

You need: peach correctora soft brown pencildark brown matte shadowa small angled brusha hand mirror
Step 1: Soojin presses peach corrector onto her closed upper lid with her ring finger
1
A thin layer of peach corrector, pressed onto the lid with your ring finger.
Step 2: Soojin, eye open and chin level, finds where her fold hides the lid
2
Eye open, chin level. Find where your fold hides the lid.
Step 3: Soojin holds a hand mirror low and looks down to see her lash line
3
The hand-mirror trick: look down, and the lash line shows itself.
Step 4: Soojin joins the dots with short stitch-like pencil strokes along her lash line
4
Join the dots with short stitches, never one long pull.
Step 5: Soojin softens the line to nothing at the inner third of her eye
5
Let the line fade to nothing at the inner third.
Step 6: Soojin draws a short lift at the outer corner with her eye open
6
The short lift at the outer corner, drawn with your eye open.
Step 7: Soojin presses dark brown matte shadow over the pencil with a small angled brush
7
Press matte shadow over the pencil so it stays all day.
The finished eye: Soojin looking into the camera with soft, thin liner visible on her open hooded eyes
✓
The finished eye. Thin, soft, and you can see it with your eye open.
Careful: every skin step in the book has a box like this. Here: the line stays on the skin above the lashes, never on the wet inner rim.

What I see when a new client over 60 sits down

The jar in the drawer

A $300 cream, half used, bought because a counter promised what no jar can do.

Foundation in every line

Put on thick at eight, sitting in every line by eleven, and powder on top to fix it.

Liner on the lower lid

Drawn where the lid used to be, now hidden under the fold and smudged by noon.

It is almost never your age. It is the order, the amount and the place it goes. Those three things I can teach you.

Fantastic! I'm not Asian but am in my 70s and the hood of my eye almost reaches to the eyeball. Every tutorial I've watched for 10 years in incorrect and NEVER worked. Thank you for this NEW technique.

@OTseven· eyeliner video

Love how you embrace the age instead of trying to pile up stuff on your face to disguise when we know that doesn't work in real life 🙂

@pamelaupload5581· foundation video

I'm going to do the blush before foundation. I like that you go over the steps at the end of your video. Thank you from one MUA to the other.

@CarolRogne· foundation video

I never used toner much when younger. Now 67 I am going to follow your steps. They make so much sense. And I will embrace all the small things that make my face uniquely mine. Thank you.

@KayeReshaw· foundation video

You are such an excellent tutor - this is such a great video - well presented, so clear and really genuinely interesting. S”cut good advice! Thank you, I am so glad I found this channel! 🙏

@junemalone6648· Vaseline video

Love the idea! Thank you. Funny, I am just using vaseline on my heels since this has been the only one that works for me. I am happily excitedly going to follow your advise. Thank you very much for being so honest about everything. Will be following your videos . Thank you ❤❤❤ God bless!

Over the past couple of years, I’ve naturally gravitated toward smaller, more delicate earrings. I never really thought about why, but your video helped me understand that my taste has been evolving as I age gracefully. It’s lovely to have that perspective confirmed. Thank you for sharing your wisdom! ❤️ Lisa

07 Before you decide

Is this book for you?

It's for you if…

  • you are over 55 and your old makeup stopped working on your face
  • your lids now hide your liner, or it smears by noon
  • you want the steps in the right order, with pictures, not a long video
  • you would rather spend $20 at the drugstore than $300 on a jar
  • you want to look fresh and like yourself, not done up

It's probably not for you if…

  • you want a promise of a number of years off your face
  • you are looking for medical treatment for a skin condition
  • you want a trend look made for twenty-year-olds
  • you only want a list of products to buy, without the how
Soojin Park in her salon in Seoul
08 A note from Soojin

I learned on other women's mothers.

I started at twenty-one, as an assistant in a beauty salon in Cheongdam-dong in Seoul. I swept hair and washed brushes, and I watched how Korean women care for their skin, from the cleanse to the last layer of cream.

For more than thirty years I did makeup and facials for brides, for TV presenters, for office workers on their way to work. And more and more, for the mothers and grandmothers of my young clients. Those older women became my favourite people in the chair. I would change two or three small things, the place of a line, the order of a cream, and they would look at the mirror for a long time and ask me, why did nobody teach me this sooner?

“Your face did not get worse. The way you were taught to do it simply stopped fitting it.”

Today I have my own small salon in Seoul, and most of my regulars are over 50. When American clients and friends kept asking me the same questions, what goes on before foundation, how to wash, what to skip, I started my channel. And then you asked me, again and again, to show it step by step. A video can't wait for you. A book can.

I am not a doctor, and I will never tell you a cream does what a surgeon does. I am a woman who has touched thousands of faces, and I always show you the simple, affordable way first.

10 Questions

Questions women ask me, answered honestly

Is Soojin a doctor?

No. I am a makeup artist from Seoul, and I have run my own small skincare salon for years. I teach what I do with my hands every day. For a skin problem that worries you, a rash that will not go, or a spot that changes, please see your doctor.

I'm not Korean. Will this work on my face?

Yes. Hooded lids, thinner brows, lines around the mouth and crepey skin come to every face with age. Many of my clients are American women, and the steps are the same for them.

Will it make me look 20 years younger?

I won't promise you a number. Nobody honest can. What the book does is make you look fresher and more awake, like yourself on a good day, with no surgery and no needles.

Do I have to buy expensive Korean products?

No. Most of what I use costs under $20 at the drugstore, and every chapter gives a cheaper swap. Start with what is already in your bathroom.

My eyes and hands are not what they were.

The large-print edition is included, and there is a whole chapter on makeup with shaky hands or weaker eyesight. The hand-mirror trick in Chapter 1 was made for exactly this.

I'm not good with computers.

You pay, and the book arrives in your email about a minute later. You tap it and it opens. If anything goes wrong, write to florianschon3@gmail.com and we send it again.

I worry about Vaseline and petroleum.

Part Six explains where Vaseline helps and where it clogs, and gives plant-based swaps for women who want no petroleum at all. And if you use oxygen at home, the book tells you plainly to keep petroleum jelly off your face.

Can I buy it for my mother or my sister?

Yes, many women do. Open it on her tablet with her, or print the pages she needs and leave them by her mirror.

Money is tight right now.

It is one payment of $37, no subscription, and the 30-day refund means you can try every step first. Most women already own half of what the book uses.

Will anything be posted to me?

No. It is a digital book. Nothing ships, and there is nothing to wait for.
